About Burnsland

About Burnsland

Burnsland had its beginnings in the late 1990s as Steve’s Disney Railroad Adventures, focusing on the steam railroads found at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and was found on different free web hosting sites. But the content continued to grow, and the site expanded to what is now Burnsland.com. The Disney Railroads areas are still here, but there is so much more as well.

Burnsland has become a place to share my thoughts, photography, artwork, and whatever else I have. It is difficult to come up with a description of what Burnsland is, except to say that Burnsland is me. So who am I?

About Steve

Laura and Steve in Kansas

I am a husband, father, photographer, writer, podcaster, blogger, Christian, Disney fan, and all-around nice guy. Or at least I try to be. I have some wide-ranging interests, and those are often reflected in what you will see here at Burnsland.

Most of the content that is shared revolves around the photographs I have taken. I have always enjoyed photography, and I got my first “real” camera in 1986, a Pentax K1000. Of course, that camera has long since been replaced by a series of digital cameras. But in more recent years, I have learned that just taking a photo isn’t enough for me. I then process and edit each photo until it has just the right look to suit me before I post it here. While some believe that a photo should be good straight out of the camera, I think that a good photo can be made even better and more interesting through proper processing.

You will notice that there is quite a bit of Disney related stuff around here. I made my first visit to Walt Disney World in 1983, and I have been there many, many times since then. It is one of the many things that my family and I enjoy, and Disney seems to be common ground among many people. While the Disney posts are often popular, I try not to make this just a Disney site. After all, there is much more out there in the world, too.

Contacting Burnsland

If you have something to say, I would love to hear it! Feel free to post a comment on any of the posts here at Burnsland. If I am the only one talking around here, things get pretty boring rather quickly. Interaction makes this a much better place. Plus, it lets me know which posts you really enjoy, which can help me decide on what to post in the future.

If you have any further questions, feel free to email me at burnsland@burnsland.com. Yes that is a bit of a repetitive email address, but it does work. I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

Find Me Elsewhere

You can find me (usually as Burnsland) on many popular social networks, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and probably some others that I can’t even remember, too.

I was previously one of the hosts of the Beyond the Berm podcast, which focused even more on Disney, as well as whatever other topics that we decide to cover. But that podcast has been on long-term hiatus for a while. However, be sure to check out the Burnsland Podcast!
